Comings and Goings
We are excited to announce our newest Stepping Stone Pediatrics provider, Holly Smith, CPNP, who comes to us from Peachtree City after working with Peachtree Pediatrics for the last couple of years. Holly obtained her Nurse Practitioner degree from Emory where she received both her Bachelor’s and her Master’s degrees and was a Lettie Whitehead Scholar. While in school she did a large portion of her clinical rotations with Dr. Kim’s team, so she is very familiar with our philosophy of care and patient service. We were very impressed with her then and are super excited to have someone who understands the special SSP culture of individualized personal care joining us.
Sadly, we must announce a counterpoint to the happy news of Holly’s arrival. Genevieve Kandler, who just delivered her beautiful baby girl earlier this summer, will be leaving us after Thanksgiving. Gen has been a huge part of this practice and will be sorely missed, but she received an offer that simply couldn’t be refused. We will be sad to see her go, but we are happy for the wonderful new opportunity she and her family now have. Here is a short note from Gen to our patients:
When I started with Dr. Kim’s practice as a student in 2013, I knew I’d found someplace special. Here were a group of providers that did things a little differently – that took time to really get to know their patients, to think through their symptoms, and not jump to conclusions. I knew I’d found providers that would be not only colleagues, but mentors to me as a new Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Stepping Stone Pediatrics has been more than a job for me – it’s been a home, a place for me to grow as a provider. I tell people I don’t have colleagues, I have work family. And so it’s bittersweet that November 24th will be my last day with this family. I’ll be starting a new chapter of my career at Pediatric Ear Nose and Throat of Atlanta, where I know I’ll still see some familiar faces from time to time.
It’s been not only a pleasure, but a privilege to care for the children and families in our community. I’ll miss working with all our wonderful teens, and watching little ones I’ve rounded on in the hospital start talking, and walking, and flashing big smiles.
When I had my own child earlier this year, there was no question in my mind who my husband and I would use as our pediatrician. Though I will no longer be at Stepping Stone Pediatrics as a provider, I’m sure I’ll see many of you in the waiting room as there is still no one I’d trust more with our little one!
We wish Gen all the best as she moves forward in her career and know you will find Holly to be a trusted resource in providing the very best care for your child!
